The province has added a final Reading Scope and Sequence for Kindergarten to Grade 3, with draft Oral Language and Writing scopes and sequences (2026) open for feedback.
Below is how the official curriculum organizes it. Each strand will get full lessons like the ones in Grade 1 Mathematics.
Texts on identity, community and responsibility; messages in graphs, icons and pictures; retell heard texts; read and relate sequence, problems and solutions
Create texts about identity and community; speak clearly in logical order; write and share stories or informational texts of five or more sentences
