Two new Grade 9 courses (Course I and Course II, draft) that add a Financial Literacy strand are in pilot and voluntary use in 2026/27, with full implementation planned for 2027/28.
Below is how the official curriculum organizes it. Each strand will get full lessons like the ones in Grade 1 Mathematics.
Powers and exponent laws; rational numbers; order of operations; square roots
Graph linear relations; solve linear equations and inequalities; polynomials of degree 2 or less
Circle properties; surface area of composite 3-D objects; similar polygons; scale diagrams; line and rotational symmetry
Bias and ethics in data collection; samples and populations; data project; probability in society
