Alberta · Junior high

Grade 8

Junior high subjects still follow Alberta's earlier programs of study in 2026-27. New draft curricula for Grades 7 to 9 (mathematics, social studies, physical education and wellness, career education and financial literacy, science) are only in optional pilots or field tests. Students also take complementary courses chosen by their school, such as Career and Technology Foundations, second languages, art, music or drama.
